AirCorps Aviation, located in Bemidji, MN, is known for award-winning restorations of WWII aircraft. We also support the aerospace industry through part manufacturing, part sales, and historic document preservation. With over 60 employees and growing, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team.

The Component CNC Machinist/Programmer position is responsible for safely and efficiently programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and assisting with other parts machining and fabrication. This position directly supports the component and restoration shop with their daily needs.

Key expectations include producing high quality results, working efficiently and independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely completion of projects, demonstrating strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, preventative equipment maintenance, shop organization, safety, and continuous improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures projects are completed on time and to specifications.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Accurately uses and reads precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Writes and optimizes CNC programs to create parts.
  • Cross-trains to skillfully operate a variety of production equipment.
  • Displays a positive attitude when facing new challenges or attempting to solve problems.
  • Develops work holding and select cutting tools based on part feature and material requirements.
  • Creates and compiles necessary documents and work procedures to aid in machine set up and operation.
  • Verifies the availability of tooling needed to run parts associated with the programs.
  • Works with others as part of a high performance team.
  • Accepts and applies on the job training to advance professional skill level.
  • Enjoys working on challenging projects on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient at all aspects of operating relevant equipment, including advanced set-up, programming, and efficiently transitioning between orders.
  • Ability to Program CNC equipment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines.
  • Ability to run manual machine tools and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork.
  • Must have manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect and identify defects.
  • Minimum 3 years CNC machining.
  • Minimum 3 years CNC programming.
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.
