SUMMARY:

The Level 2 Component Mechanic position consists of precision restoration, repair, and overhaul of aircraft systems, systems components, and parts. Employees will ensure that work accomplished leads the industry’s highest quality standards and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Disassembly, cleaning, inspection, restoration, assembly, and testing of component systems.
  • Restores, repairs, and overhauls vintage and modern aircraft systems, systems components, and parts.
  • Inspects and signs off own work, and work of others, as necessary for meeting compliance requirements.
  • Works with others as part of a high performance team.
  • Accepts and applies on the job training to advance professional skill level.
  • Displays a positive attitude when facing new challenges or attempting to solve problems.
  • Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records and documentation.
  • Provides own basic tools used in general aviation maintenance and be experienced in their use.
  • Maintains safe work habits and adheres to correct use of proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains an awareness of safety-sensitive work and surroundings. Responsible for identifying potential and actual hazards and mitigate damage to persons and property.
  • Organizes all tools, work areas, and equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Works efficiently and independently with minimal supervision within defined quality standards to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Effectively and proficiently adapts to changing tasks and project requirements.
  • Seeks out opportunities to build new skills. Develops good work habits to ensure a high quality of work is accomplished.
  • Completes all assigned tasks according to team production schedule.
  • Identifies and suggests ways for the company to improve the efficiency and quality of production to the shop’s system and process to support the company’s growth.
  • Identifies the most efficient way to safely complete scheduled assignments.
  • Supports continuous improvements and efforts to make positive changes in the organization.
  • Effectively participates in the implementation of these efforts.
  • Proactively identifies defects or equipment issues to minimize scrap and rework of parts.
  • Effectively and proficiently uses Buildbook to communicate project needs with other team members, maintain relevant compliance data, and monitor task completions.
  • Effectively and proficiently navigates AirCorps’ digital and physical libraries to access part drawings, manuals, and other resources.
  • Seeks out and uses technical resources in the appropriate format.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • FAA Mechanic Certified with an Airframe rating (A&P is desirable ).
  • Experience with aircraft flight controls, hydraulics, fuel, and other aircraft systems.
  • Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aircraft maintenance field.
  • Effectively and proficiently uses computer-based and online software systems .
  • Reads and understands aircraft blueprints and technical data.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect components and identify defects.
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools or make adjustments and repairs.
