We also support the aerospace industry through part manufacturing, part sales, and historic document preservation. The Press Brake Operator position is responsible for safely and efficiently forming sheet metal into conforming parts using a CNC press brake and other miscellaneous hand forming tools and techniques. Key expectations include producing high quality results according to work instructions, meeting daily production schedules, demonstrating strong knowledge of production processes, preventative equipment maintenance, shop organization, safety, and continuous improvement.
Reports To: VP of Fabrication
PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Efficiently set up CNC press brakes in accordance with supplied drawings
Accurately use and read precision measuring devices (calipers, protractor, etc.)
Work with others as part of a high performance team
Adapt to changing work priorities
Able to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or procedures
Accept and apply on the job training to advance professional skill level
Enjoys working on challenging projects on a daily basis
Always correctly uses the proper personal protective equipment
Promptly report all injuries and unsafe conditions
Reports for regular and on-time attendance for full scheduled work shift
Maintains a favorable working relationship with coworkers to promote a cooperative climate conducive to maximum productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness
Participates and supports Continuous Improvement initiatives

Has knowledge of complex sheet metal forming
Works efficiently and independently with minimal supervision

Accurately interprets work orders to select the correct materials and perform equipment setup/ programming
Proactively identifies defects or equipment issues to minimize scrap materials and rework of parts
Performs first-article and random inspections of completed work according to quality standards
Takes good care of the equipment under their responsibility and performs preventative maintenance according to schedule
Proficient at all aspects of operating relevant equipment, including advanced set-up, programming, and efficiently transitioning between orders
Cross-trains to skillfully operate a variety of production equipment, cranes, and forklifts
Qualifications:
Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines
Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
