AirCorps Depot acquires the world’s largest inventory of Stearman spares and surplus parts.
Bemidji, MN (May 13, 2024): AirCorps Depot, under the management of AirCorps Aviation, announced today that they have acquired the Stearman, legacy aircraft parts inventory and resources from Dusters & Sprayers Supply of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
“On behalf of everyone at AirCorps Aviation, we are very proud to be sought out by Dusters & Sprayers to buy their storied assets and inventory” stated Erik Hokuf, General Manager of AirCorps Aviation. “Aligning the AirCorps Depot entity, our AirCorps team, FAA Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA), fabrication and engineering services, and Component shop with the Dusters & Sprayers inventory will allow us to meet the needs of Stearman owners, operators and shops. This acquisition follows our prior AirCorps Depot acquisition of the storied Pioneer Aero Services P-51 Mustang inventory last year.”
Dusters & Sprayers Supply Inc. has a long history going back to 1945, the firm started as American Dusting Company. Prior owners Clint Frye, R.W. Erwin, L.H. King, the Winchester family, Bob Chambers, Hugh Wilson and George Hector have all supported Stearman owners, operators, and maintainers across the globe.
Over the past thirteen years AirCorps Aviation has continued its globally recognized WWII aircraft restoration work, while developing a number of strategic investments in AirCorps Depot, Build to Print fabrication, and component overhaul work. AirCorps has grown to a team of nearly 70 and has made significant improvements in our range of fabrication capabilities, design, and engineering.
“We are restorers at heart, and an entrepreneurial mindset has always been a part of our company’s DNA. That creativity brought to life offerings like AirCorps Depot, AirCorps Library, and it allowed us to build our own warbird parts business beyond our restorations” said Eric Trueblood, VP Sales and Marketing. “As restorers and maintainers we realized the only way to build our parts sales was to use our capabilities to focus on proactively stocking airworthy or overhauled parts to meet the immediate needs of operators. That approach has been successful and yielded consistent growth. What George, Kay, Laci, and Tim have built to support the Stearman aircraft is appreciated and admirable. We are honored to carry the torch to ensure these aircraft operate safely and are well supported. We are also excited to manage this inventory–not with the sole intent of depleting it–but instead to find ways to build, replenish, maintain it, and most importantly predict and respond to what the Stearman market needs.”
The Dusters and Sprayers inventory will be incorporated into the AirCorps Depot existing parts warehouse and e-commerce website. The AirCorps PMA quality system will take on and absorb the over 400 PMA approvals that Dusters & Sprayers held.
In the interim you can call and email Dusters and Sprayers to continue to order and receive parts. AirCorps will announce the last day to order prior to moving the inventory in early June. “We plan to make the transition as seamless as possible, and will be working with Kay, Laci and the Dusters team to continue to fulfill orders” said Hokuf.
AirCorps Aviation is world renowned for its historical aircraft restorations. Our specialized capabilities and project experiences have developed departments that now provide aircraft integrations, modifications, and repairs as outside services to the larger aerospace industry. Adherence to an FAA PMA Quality System, a broad range of metal forming & machining capabilities, and exacting detail are evident in the award-winning work for which AirCorps is known.
