SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer position is responsible for initiating, tracking, and guiding projects through completion to the high standards associated with AirCorps Aviation.

The Project Engineer will work in person at the AirCorps Aviation offices in Bemidji, MN.

Key responsibilities include collaborating across teams to accomplish customer projects, utilizing project management tools, effective communication, and maintaining high productivity. Supports AirCorps Aviation goals for on-time delivery, quality, organization, safety, and continuous improvement.

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists Sales Lead and Engineering Manager in preparing project proposals, including cost and schedule estimates 
  • Collaborates with AirCorps Fabrication and Restoration teams to accomplish complex, multi-stage projects
  • Efficiently and proficiently uses project management applications to communicate project needs with other team members and monitor task completions
  • Assists Engineering and Sales leaders with creating estimates, proposals, sales orders, and purchase orders to initiate projects
  • Creates bills of materials using a combination of original documentation and engineering judgement
  • Executes engineer projects, to include planning for availability of needed resources, and assisting in the development of production schedules.
  • Maintains safe work habits and adheres to correct use of proper personal protective equipment.
  • Maintains an awareness of safety-sensitive work and surroundings.  Responsible to identify and report potential and actual hazards to persons and property.
  • Completes and maintains all required paperwork, records, and documentation.
  • Assists in initiating new processes and product development and implementation.
  • Engages with and provides exceptional customer service to vendors and customers in support of assigned projects.
  • Considers product/component pricing from suppliers to maximize gross margin and cash flow without sacrificing product quality.
  • Seeks out opportunities to build new skills.  Develops good work habits to ensure a high quality of work is accomplished.
  • Completes all assigned tasks according to team project schedule and budgets.
  • Assists in production of SOPs and other beneficial process mapping.
  • Participates in the successful implementation of identified process improvements initiatives.
  • Effectively and proficiently navigates AirCorps’ online and physical libraries to access part drawings, manuals, and other resources.
  • Works efficiently and with minimal supervision within defined quality standards to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Adapts to changing tasks and project requirements.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally to support customer projects. 
  • Minimum 2-year Technical Degree. Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, preferred.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes and environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effectively and proficiently uses computer-based and online software and systems daily. 
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time. 
  • Familiarity with FAA Certification is a plus.

Compensation: $24-$34/hr
